Sentence Correction

Sentence Correction

Students listen to the teacher and guess whether the sentence structure is correct or incorrect. A speaking activity using countable and uncountable nouns.

Level:  Elementary

Grammar:  Countable & Uncountable Nouns

Time:  20 minutes


  • Make one copy of the Key for the teacher.



Ask the students to get into groups of 4 or 5 people. 


Ask the students to listen to a sentence (from the Key) and decide whether it is correct or not. If it is incorrect, the students must correct the sentence.


The first group to raise their hand can try to answer. Correct answers get one point.


Continue until all the sentences are finished. The winner is the group with the most points.

Extended Practice

To practice writing, students could go to the board and write the correct sentence instead of saying it.
