How Often Worksheet II

Students use adverbs of frequency and time expressions to answer "How often ..." questions from a worksheet about daily activities.

Level:  Elementary

Topic:  Daily activities

Grammar:  Adverbs of frequency

Time:  15 minutes

Preparation

  • Make one copy of the Handout for each student in the class.

Procedure

Give one copy of the Handout to each student.

Students stand up and get a partner. Their task is to ask a question from the handout. Partners answer the question with an adverb of frequency and a time expression.


For example:

A:  How often do you watch DVDs?

B: I usually watch DVDs on weekends.

Students change partners for each question (they should have 7 different partners), and record their partners' names and answers on their handout.

Extended Practice

Randomly select a student’s name in the class, and ask a question to the whole class from the handout. Students look at their handout to find out if they have the answer.


For example:

Teacher:  How often does Yuka watch DVDs?

Student: Yuka often watches DVDs on weekends.
