Charades Using Adjectives

Charades Using Adjectives

Students review adjectives by acting out a word on a card. Team members try to guess the correct adjective. This activity makes a good warmer.

Level:  Elementary

Topic:  Warmer

Grammar:  Adjectives

Time:  15 minutes

  • Prepare a list of adjectives for the charades game, or make one copy of the Conversation Cards for the teacher.

Divide students into two groups.

Ask students to number each person in the group.

Ask student #1 from each group to leave the room. Show the two students outside the room one adjective from the Conversation Cards.

The two students return to their groups and act out the adjective.

The first group to correctly guess the adjective gets a point.

Continue with student #2, and so on, until each student has had a chance to act out an adjective.

The group with the most points is the winner of the charades game.
